Hi friend,
Your answer:
Elephantiasis is caused due to infection by the nematode parasites such as Wuchereria bancrofti, Brugia malayi, and Brugia timori. These parasites are transmitted from one human to another one through the female mosquito when it feeds on blood. While in the body, they grow into an adult worm and live in the lymphatic system of human.
When the parasite accumulates in the blood vessels, it causes the restriction of blood circulation and causes fluid to build up in the surrounding tissues and thus causing the disease.
