What is the cause of the upthrust?At which point it can be considered to act?

Upthrust force is caused due to difference of pressures between lower and upper surfaces of the immersed body in a fluid.
Upthrust force acts on lower surface of the immersed body in upward direction.

it is the upward force acting on a body when placed in a material medium.it acts perpendicular to the surface
