Given : sector  used to make a cone of base radius 10 cm and slant height 25 cm

To Find : central angle of the sector

Solution:

Slant height of cone = 25 cm

Hence radius of paper = 25 cm

Base radius of cone = 10 cm

Hence circumference of base = 2πr

= 2π(10)

= 20π cm

Hence arc length  of paper = 20π

Radius = 25 cm

Sector angle   = x°

(x/360°) * 2π * 25  = 20π

=> (x/360°)  25  = 10

=> x = 360 * 10 /25

=> x = 144

central angle of the sector to be used  = 144°
