Answer:
Hope is a thing with feathers.
Explanation:
Hope is, as she says-- a thing with feathers. Hope 'perches on the soul' and always stays there. When a person receives hope; hope will always be there. It comforts a person, and is always there, almost saying that things will be better. The animal that is hope in this poem is a bird. (For some reason, when I read this I think of that bird as a dove)
Even when the 'storms' and 'gales' of life--the hard stuff--come our way, hope will still be there. You can still have hope, and it helps you get through the hardest times; believing that something better is up ahead. That hope helps many and 'keeps them warm'.
the speaker can still hear the 'song' of hope even in the 'coldest' or 'strangest' places, but still hope continues to fleet away from the speaker. Hope gives us expectancies for the future, but it never asks anything in return.
I 'hope' this will help!
