_______

Arms and the Man is an anti-war play written by George Bernard Shaw. It is satire.  It was first performed in the 1890s. The main theme of the play revolves around realism and idealism. The play also portrays a theme set with some unrealistic romance. The war is shown as idealised and soldiers get honour after returning from war as a hero. But war is destructive however it is idealised. The heroic Sergius has a contrast of feelings as a hero and inner feelings about war.
