The true theme of the poem is that we should cherish every moment of life. Life is really very short. The poet realises that it is very difficult to deal with the loss but it must be done. We should move on as there is no use in wasting precious time and life.

The central idea of the Ball poem is the sense of loss in life . Loss is fact of life . The sooner man learn to tolerate it ,the better it is . When we lose something for first time , we fell very sad . But the poet can gave another ball . But He want that the boy must learn the bitter truth of life that everyone can suffer the loss of something dear
