This is the central idea of Sylvia Path'spoem "Mirror." ... It is only the mirrorwhich offers the undistorted reflection. The woman depicted in the poem has aged- throughout the process, it is only the mirror which has been there for her.

mark as brilliant

nandana0497: Overall, "Mirror" is a melancholy and even bitter poem that exemplifies the tensions between inner and outer selves, as well as indicates the preternaturally feminine "problem" of aging and losing one's beauty.

the poem mirror is based on the personification of a mirror in which the mirror describe itself as being truthful and honest but people onseeing their reflection in the mirror become sad as they are not able to see themselves beautiful in the mirror
