When the momentum of a body is increased by 25%, its momentum will become

p′=p+10025p=100125p=45p

∴KK′=p2p′2=(45)2=1625 or K′=1625K

Percentage increase in the kinetic energy of the body

=KK′−K×100=K(25/16)K−K×100=169×100=56%.
