Margie is an important character in this poem ' THE FUN THEY HAD 'by "ISSAC ASIMOV" . She is eleven years old and neighbour of TOMMY.
She is an innocent little girl. Her knowledge is limited as she do not read too much telebooks . She beleives what her elders tell her. She does not challenge TOMMY who is just 2 years senior to her. She hates school because it is mechanical , boring and very strict . She hates homework as she felt pressure on her. Margie is imaginative . She imagines how funny was old school because all neighbourhood children gathered in special buildings and a human teacher taught them . She contrast between two types of school . We are sympathetic towards the ordeal of her life . Her innocent and lovely human character stand against the mechanical world.
