Rasila the servant of Babu Jagatsingh in the story has been introduced as a poor,low waged and desperate servant trying to increase his salary through requests.
He is a honest man though he was poor and never practised corruption during his job.He was a fast friend of Ramzan whom he owned his debt of eight annas . he can be considered as humble person as he could not met Ramzan's eyes before he reaped his debt.he in a desperation smoked the anna given to him but true to his nature could not muster courage to defend himself in the court or expose the deeds of Jagatsingh and Sheikh Salimuddin.
