Cl2 does not have any charge.

But when it is present in its ionic form then chlorine have -1(generally not always) charge on it. But charge on chlorine varies from -1 to +7.

\bold{\mathrm{Cl}_{2}} is nothing but a Chlorine molecule made up of two Chlorine atoms with one negative charge on each.

The resultant chlorine molecule or \mathrm{Cl}_{2} is neutral in charge as the two \bold{C l^{-}} form covalent bonding. Thus they have no charge as either of the two atoms has not lost or gained any electrons.

Instead the one outer electron of each of the Cl atom is shared to form a covalent bond and a stable and neutral Chlorine molecule \left(\mathrm{Cl}_{2}\right).
