what is the chemical composition used in napkin pads, how does the gel formed affects the environment?

Dioxin is a chemical used to bleach the cotton and cellulose wood pulp, to give it a white color. This chemical does not get eliminated from the product on which it is used and finds its way to your body and environment when you use a sanitary pad containing this cotton.
