Decomposition of vegetable matter is carried out by microbes.

We cannot give a single chemical reaction as every vegetable matter is made up of different kind of organic compounds & also the product formed which is a compost consist of different composition of carbon to nitrogen ratio.

So there is no proper chemical equation for decomposition of vegetable matter into waste....
