What is the chemical equation for dilute sulphuric acid on a copper plate?

Answer:

Cu do not react with dilute sulphuric acid as it comes behind hydrogen in the reactivity series. But with concentrated H2SO4 it reacts to form CuSO4  and SO2   is evolved.

Cu+2H 2  SO4  (conc)    →    CuSO4  +SO2 + 2H2O
