It is prepared by heating gypsum at 300 degree celcius

it is prepared by heating gypsum at 373k. on heating gypsum at 373k ,it loses water molecules and becomes calcium sulphate hemihydrate. This is called the plaster of Paris.

when plaster of Paris is mixed with water gypsum (common name) is formed. chemically it is known as calcium sulphate dehydrate.
