The chemical name of RUST is IRON OXIDE/ FERRIC OXIDE.

EXPLANATION:

The chemical formula for rust is Fe_{2}0_{3}, it will form when iron react with oxygen (O). When any Iron was in the presence of moisture without oil it will start rusting completely.

Rusting iron will have crack, heavy damage, dry surface breakdown and it also caused by salt moisture/water. Kerosene (oil) is the one substance which is useful to remove hard rust from Iron.

The chemical name of rust is Fe2O3.nH2O.It is iron oxide.

Explanation:

  • Rust is the  name which is given to a complex which consists of oxides and hydroxides of iron.
  • The chemical name of rust is iron oxide, mainly ferrous (III) oxide.
  • Formula of rust becomesFe2O3.32H2Oor ratherFeO(OH) or Fe(OH)3.
  • The rusting of iron is also known as corrosion which is an electrochemical process.
  • Here the transfer of electrons takes place from iron to oxygen.
  • The oxidizing agent here is oxygen which reduces the iron. The process  of corrosion is accelerated by water.
  • Corrosion of  the iron surface is mainly due to attack by air and moisture.
  • Rusting is purely used to description of the oxidation of iron, where water remains as the catalyst.
