Answer:

A chemical reaction is a process of arranging certain number of compounds or elements in a way which shows their conversion into different forms as they form compounds with each other, or decompose to form different elements.

Types of chemical reactions:

  • Combination reaction

A + B => AB

\sf{H_{2} + O_{2} \rightarrow H_{2}O}

  • Decomposition reaction

AB => A + B

\sf{2AgCl \rightarrow 2Ag + Cl_{2}}

  • Displacement Reaction

AB + C => AC + B

\sf{CuSO_{4} + Fe \rightarrow FeSO_{4} + Cu}

  • Double Displacement Reaction

AB + CD => AC + BD

\sf{2NaSO_{4} + BaCl_{2} \rightarrow 2NaCl + Ba(SO_{4})_{2}}

  • Oxidation reaction

Adding of oxygen or removal of hydrogen

\sf{Fe + O_{2} \rightarrow Fe_{2}O_{3}}

  • Reduction reaction

Adding of hydrogen or removal of oxygen

\sf{CuO + H_{2} \rightarrow Cu + H_{2}O}

Chemical reaction refers to the process in which the new substance with New properties is formed . Chemical reaction is also rearrangement of atoms to form a New compound.

It is of five types

  • combination reaction
  • displacement reaction
  • decomposition reaction
  • Double displacement reaction
  • redox reaction.
