What is the chemistry of golden spangles in test of lead ion?

Add the substance containing Pb2+Pb2+ cation with Dil.HCl cool the solution

Now add KI (Potassium Iodide) to the above solution you will observe the whole solution turning Yellow (precipitate).

Now comes the show down….. Hot (heat it) and cool (under water) the solution and you will observe golden sprankles settling down at the bottom of the solution. Filter them!!!

Now dry them see the sprankles…..
