Anaerobic exercise is a very short, very intense exercise that doesn't use oxygen for fuel. Unlike aerobic exercise, which uses oxygen for a sustained workout, anaerobic training lasts only seconds to at most two minutes. Examples include sprints, interval training and heavy weightlifting. While challenging to perform, periods of anaerobic exercise can produce significant results in your strength, health and body functioning.
