what is the chief characteristics of the Indian political system
Answers
Answer:
There are five official aspects vital to our political system-
1.The president and governor - they are custodians of democracy and there role mainly comes to play at the time of confusion and crisis.
2. Election commission- active all year and works relatively independently.when elections are on, cec has immense powers.inspite of the fact that election commissioner is appointed by central govt, after occupying chair, most of them have worked to rule books
3. Judiciary- independent of executive and political system, they have time and again proved their worth by correcting political wrong doings.
4. Burocracy - rulers by proxy. They control political leaders ( although leaders think otherwise) . They also have insured that leaders don’t go haywire.
5. Political parties and leaders- they fight each other for votes . People elect them . Both rule each other on best effort basis. Post emergency, India learned that opposition is more important than ruling party. Recently India also learned how opposition can stoop so low to disrupt parliament.
To me, sixth is RTI .media is poor seventh as most of them are sold out.
Hope this gives you an idea of times we are in. Be happy because in spite of all the flaws, it has worked well for the stability of our country .
