The Child Labour Act, 1986 is a Law enacted on 23 December, 1986 by the Parliament of India and Ministry of Labour and Employment.
This law aims at prohibiting employment of children below 14 in jobs like domestic help.
However, this is not applicable if the child helps in his/her family owned businesses or if he/she is a child actor.
