Copper sulphate pentahydrate contain 5 moles of water per one mole of copper (II) sulphate. Its formula is written as CuSO4.5H2O and has blue colour due to water of hydration. It can be converted into anhydrous copper sulphate when heated strongly.

The colour of cupric sulfate is blue. It is blue because of water of crystallization associated with it. But upon heating the salt will become white, because by getting heat it will loss its water of crystallization (which will become vapors).
Reaction:-
CuSo4.5H2O ---> CuSo4 + 5H2O
