What is the colour of ferrous sulphate crystals how does this colour change when slightly heated and why

the colour of ferrous sulphate is green

when it is slightly heated then,it loses it water of crystallization.

the following reaction takes place when it is heated:

FeSO4.7H2O =. FeSO4. + 7H20

(green coloured). (colourless)
