What is the colour of ZnCl2? colourless or black?
why it becomes black when added to dil. Hcl?
when dil. hcl is added ZnCl2 is formed.
which means ZnCl2 is black.

Answer:

it is not black but its (Zn)colour becomes dull (originally it is white) due to displacement of H by Zn from HCl

Explanation:

Zn+HCl=ZnCl2+H2
