Yellow as mono chromatic light will not split but it just refract. If the poly chromatic light has comprises of red and green primary colours which is passed through prism. It will split so that yellow laser beam will pass through prism which composes red and green light emitting diode. Then it will split up into green and red wavelengths but if a sodium lamp as yellow light source is used only refraction can be observed.
