(2x-3)-(x+1) = (x+5)-(2x-3)

x - 4 = -x + 8

2x = 12

x = 6

x + 1 = 7

2x - 3 = 9

x + 5 = 11

Next term = 13

If you want to write this in terms of x, then we notice a pattern in 1st and 3rd terms: x+1, x+5. These differ by 4. So then 2nd and 4th terms should also differ by 4: 2x-3, 2x+1

Next term: 2x+1

Sequence: x+1, 2x-3, x+5, 2x+1, x+9, 2x+5, x+13, 2x+9, …
