When he was fired from Apple in 1985 Former Pepsi wunderkind John Sculley was the CEO of Apple in 1985. Sculley and Jobs were butting heads after the introduction of the Macintosh Office when the secondgen Mac’s launch was panned by critics. Tensions were running high at the Apple office and the end result was that Jobs had to leave his position as chairman. Jobs often spoke about this “devastating” episode before realising it was a blessing in disguise. In the 12 years that he was away from Apple, Jobs created NeXT and Pixar.
