We know that, gold is a soft metal, and this softness of the gold is not useful to prepare jewellery. So , other metals like silver (mostly), copper are added to gold inorder to increase it's hardness and making it fit to prepare jewellery. so, genuine gold cannot be used to make jewellery.
Rold gold is basically the coating of thin layer of gold over the metals like brass or iron. They are coated and heated inorder to fuse these both metals. This is the composition of rold gold.
Rold gold cannot be called as genuine gold. As alot of other Metals are also mixed with it. In general there are different types of gold. Like the 24 karat and 22 karat gold. There are many more.
