No. Of moles of Na in 100 ml soln = GM/MM

=120/40 = 3

No. Of moles in 1 dm³ soln = 30

(1 dm³ = 1 L)

Hence the molarity becomes 30 M

Or you can use Molarity = 1000×GM÷MM× volume(in ml)

Note:- GM => Given mass

MM => molar mass
