CONDITION FOR MAX RANGE IF PROJECTILE:

  • Let's assume that projectile has been launched with a velocity u and at an angle of \theta such that it achieved the maximum height of H and range of R.

Now, general expression for range of a projectile is:

 \boxed{R =  \dfrac{ {u}^{2} \sin(2 \theta)  }{g} }

  • So, maximum value of range, the value of \sin(2\theta) also has to be maximum.

 \implies \:  \sin(2 \theta)  = 1

 \implies \:  2 \theta  =  {90}^{ \circ}

 \implies \: \theta  =  {45}^{ \circ}

So, projectile has to be thrown at an angle of 45° for max range .
