The condition the equation ax^2+bx+c=0 to be a quatratic EQUATION is

IN ax²+bx+c=0

a is not equal to zero

Because

If a = 0 then

ax²+bx+c = 0

0x² + bx + c = 0

bx + c = 0, which is a linear equation

And it does not remain quadratic

So, for the sake of being quadratic

a must not be equal to 0
