There are 4 constituents of phloem-

  1. Sieve tubes-These are the tubular living cell with perforated end walls.
  2. Companion cell- They are the living cells, which take part in loading and unloading of sugar into the sieve element.
  3. Phloem fibers-They are the living cells and provide strength to the stem.
  4. phloem parenchyma-These are the non-living ,schlerenchymatic cells .
