∵ 1 hydrogen atom requires 1 electron to fill its outermost shell
∴ 3 hydrogen atoms will requires 3 electrons to fill its outermost shells
Here nitrogen is providing 3 electrons to these 3 hydrogen atoms .
So here co-valency of nitrogen = 3
