TO DETERMINE

The coordinates of the point where the line 2x - 3y - 5 = 0 cuts the x – axis

EVALUATION

Here the given equation of the line is

2x - 3y - 5 = 0

Now the line cuts X axis

So we have y = 0

Putting y = 0 we get

2x - 5 = 0

⇒ 2x = 5

⇒ x = 5/2

Hence the required coordinates of the point = ( 5/2 , 0 )
