Hey there !

Compounds having both ions as well as neutral substances along with metallic property in the center of the structure of an atom.

It also contains anions and thereby are called ligands.

These are also called complex substances and are uncharged or neutral in nature.

Also compounds which form coordinate bonds with the central atom in a structure are called as coordinate compound.

E.g. Aluminate ( NaAlO₂ )

Hope my answer helped !

A coordination complex is the product of a Lewis acid-base reaction in which neutral molecules or anions (called ligands) bond to a central metal atom (or ion) by coordinate covalent bonds. Ligands are Lewis bases - they contain at least one pair of electrons to donate to a metal atom/ion.

example

[Pt(en)2]CO3

[Ni(H2O)6]Cl2
