Answer:

The correct way of making a solution of acid in water is to add acid to water. (If water bis added to acid, exothermic reaction will take place and generate a lot of heat that may lead to an explosion. Thus, acid must be added to water).

The correct way of making a solution of acid and water is to add the acid little by little to the water.

If you were to add water to the acid, then the reaction will be highly exothermic due to the concentrated nature. It will cause the shattering of the beaker and the splashing of the acid all over, and if it splashes on you, it will be highly corrosive, and hence dangerous.

Adding acid little by little to a beaker of water will be safe. Even if you were to add acid to water, there would be more water than acid, hence due to its highly dilute nature, even if acid splashes onto your skin you will be safe.
