Given data : A rectangular plot of land 500 m long and 200 m wide at the rate of Rs 8 per hundred square meter.

To find : The cost of tiling rectangular plot ?

Solution :

⟹ Length of rectangular plot = 500 m

⟹ breadth of rectangular plot = 200 m

Now, area of rectangular plot by formula :

⟹ Area of rectangle

= length * breadth

⟹ Area of rectangle

= 500 * 200

⟹ Area of rectangle

= 100000 m²

Now, according to given : cost of tiling is Rs 8 per 100 m².

Now,

⟹ cost of tiling

= {100000/100} * 8

⟹ cost of tiling

= 1000 * 8

⟹ cost of tiling

= Rs 8000

Answer : Hence, the cost of tiling a rectangular plot is Rs 8000.

Step-by-step explanation:

Concept :-

Here the concept of Area of Rectangle has been used. Through the given data, we know that there's a rectangular plot whose length is 500m and breadth is 200m. The rate of cost of tiling the plot is Rs.8 per 100m². So firstly we can find the area of rectangle, as it is not given. After that, by multiplying the required area of rectangular plot with the rate of cost of tiling we can easily the find the cost of tiling the plot.

Let's do it !!!

Solution :-

Given,

» Length of rectangular plot = 500m.

» Breadth of rectangular plot = 200m.

» Rate of cost of tiling = Rs.8 per 100m².

--------------------------------------------------------------

~ For the value of area of rectangular plot ::

We know that,

 \sf \rightarrow {Area\ of\ Rectangle\ =\ \bf Length \times Breadth}

By applying the values, we get :-

 \sf \rightarrow {Area\ of\ Rectangle\ =\ \bf Length \times Breadth}

 \sf \rightarrow {Area\ of\ Rectangle\ =\ \bf 500 \times 200}

 \bf \rightarrow {\green{Area\ of\ Rectangle\ =\ 100000m^2}}

∴ Hence, the area of the rectangular plot = 100000m².

--------------------------------------------------------------

~ For the value of cost of tiling the rectangular plot ::

We know that,

 \sf : \implies {Cost\ of\ tiling\ =\ \bf Rs.8\ per\ 100m^2}

By applying the values, we get :-

 \sf : \implies {Cost\ of\ tiling\ =\ \bf \dfrac{1000 \cancel {00}}{\cancel {100}} \times 8}

 \sf : \implies {Cost\ of\ tiling\ =\ \bf 1000 \times 8}

 \bf : \implies {\orange{Cost\ of\ tiling\ =\ Rs.8000.}}

∴ Hence, the cost of tiling the rectangular plot = Rs.8000.
