Given :

  • The selling price (S.P.) of α shirt is Rs.800.
  • Loss percent is 20%

To Find :

  • Cost price of the shirt.

Knowledge Required :

\large\star{\boxed{\sf{\pink{ C.P. \:when\:loss\%\:is\:given = \dfrac{ SP\times 100}{ 100-loss\:percent}}}}}

Solution :

  • Substitute the vαlues in the formulαe of C.P αnd simplify.

\longrightarrow{\sf{ C.P. = \dfrac{100\times 800}{ 100- 20}}}

\longrightarrow{\sf{ \dfrac{80000}{80}}}

\longrightarrow{\sf{ \dfrac{\cancel{80000}}{\cancel{80}}}}

\large\longrightarrow{\boxed{\sf{\purple{ Rs.1000}}}}

Hence, the cost price of the shirt is Rs. 1000.

And we αre done! :)
