Critical temperature is the temperature at the critical point. It’s the point in the the p-v or T-s diagram where the saturated vapor and saturated liquid line meets. Usually it’s located near the top of the bell shaped two phased region . At this point there is no distinction between liquid and vapor phase. As this point is reached the liquid suddenly flashes into vapor. This means at critical temperature the latent heat of evaporation is practically zero. This is why liquid suddenly flashes into vapor.
