Cross-sectional area of a circular ring is given by the formula,

A = \pi (R^{2} - r^{2}),

where, R is the outer radius and r is the inner radius.

Here, R = 38mm and r = 32mm

So, A = 3.14 (38^{2} - 32^{2})

A = 3.14 × (1444 - 1024)

A = 3.14 × 420

A = 1318.8 mm^{2}
