Well considering past year trends I don't think the cutoff will skyrocket. I also appeared for NEET 2018 and being dropper I felt that this time the exam was on the trickier side as compared to last year, which was pretty straightforward (NEET 2017)

Now coming to the cutoffs, here's what I think

BIOLOGY: This year the questions were pretty easy but few questions which we usually call 'tricky' or ‘out of syllabus' were more in number as compared to last year but they were still answerable if one has referred books apart from NCERT.

So the cutoff for Biology would be 280–300/360

CHEMISTRY: The easiest portion of the exam. Inorganic was like past years and consisted primarily of periodic trends. Nothing 'out of syllabus'

Physical barring questions from Thermodynamics and few from Equilibrium, it was quite easy and not lengthy.

Organic this was the toughest protion of chemistry, consisted of questions which required concepts. But in a nut shell, it was pretty moderate.

CHEMISTRY would be 140–150/180

PHYSICS: The most talked about topic of the entire exam.Physics section consisted maximum questions had average difficulty. Around 80% questions were on numerical, which were calculation intensive. Number of questions from 11th and 12th part was almost equal 21 and 24 respectively. Some theoretical questions were difficult. As expected majority questions were from Rotational motion,Heat and Thermodynamics, Optics(Ray and Wave),Current electricity. Major half of the questions were on Mechanics which had moderate to high level.

PHYSICS would be 120–130/180

So this year's AIQ cut-off will be around540/720 (General Category), 520/720 (OBC Category), 440/720 (SC category),420/720(ST Category), still high because nearly 13 lakh candidates appeared for this entrance exam.

State cut-offs will definitely take a dip
