Data abstraction is the act of representing essential features without knowing the background details. It is always relative to the purpose or user. For eg. a boy or girl can be a member of a family where data values could be height, weight etc. The same object may have different data values which could be age , sex, father's name, address etc. while preparing the voter list. Thus an object may have many abstractions.
