The decimal multiplier increase by 40%

EVALUATION

Let N be the number

Now N is increased by 40%

So after increment the new number will be

 \displaystyle \sf{ =N +  \bigg(N \times  \frac{40}{100} \bigg)  }

 \displaystyle \sf{ =N \times  \frac{140}{100}  }

 \displaystyle \sf{ =N \times  1.4  }

Hence the required decimal multiplier = 1.4
