difference between mitosis and meiosis is:
- in mitosis chromosome no. is maintained,i.e. they are diploid chromosomes in daughter cell but in meiosis thereis haploid number of chromosomes.
- no. of daughter cells produced after mitosis is two whereas no. of daughter cell produced in meiosis is 4
- mitosis occurs in unicellular organisms whereas meiosis occurs in multicellular organisms
- mitosis directly forms the daughter cell that will further reproduce but in meiosis, gamete formation occurs to fuse together and form the organism
hope this helps
