a rational number is any number which can be written in the form of p/q where p and q are integers and q≠0.
eg- 0/1 ,-888/1, 5/44
they are denoted by the symbol Q.
an irrational number is any number which cannot be written in the form of p/q where p and q are integers and q≠0.
eg- √2,√77,π
they are denoted by the symbol S.
A real number consists of both rational and irrational number.
eg-√45, π, 0, -99
they are denoted by the symbol R.
