DEFINITION OF FIRST AID :

• First aid is the assistance given to a person, who has suffered a sudden illness or injury. This is the initial treatment that is given to the sufferer before the medical treatment is available. The most essential elements of the first aid box are : - Adhesive bandage, scissors , gauze , safety clips , antiseptic ointments. The most important thing to remember while giving first aid to an injured person is, be calm and do not panic and also do not crowd around the injured person. After giving first aid , rush the injured immediately to the hospital.

AIMS OF GIVING FIRST AID :

• To save the person life.

• To control bleeding if person is injured through road accidents.

• To prevent further infections.

• Immediate care.

• Promote recovery.
