Answer:

Width of tank is 90 cm.

Depth of the tank is 40 cm.

Volume of the tank is 576 l.

To find:

The length of the rectangular tank.

Solution:

1) The volume of the tank is given in litres so will convert it into cm³ by multiplying the term in litres with 1000.

2) So the volume of the rectangular tank is 576000 cm³.

3) The formula to find the volume of the rectangular tank is LBH.

4) Volume of the tank = LBH

576000 = L×90×40

L = 576000/90×40.

L = 160 cm

The length of the rectangular tank is 160 cm or 1.6 m.
