What is the diff b/w variation and evolution​

Genetic variation is the genetic differences between individuals of the same species, as well as comparing the genomes of different species, can tell us a great deal about the relationships between organisms.

Evolution is when the whole population slowly acquires/leaves traits. Example the whole human species lost its tail in the course of evolution.Its a really slow but consistent process.

the only difference between variation and evolution is that

  • the sequence of gradual change which take place in the organism over millions of years leading to the formation of a new species is called Evolution.
  • The difference in the characters among the individual of the same species causes variation during sexual reproduction.
