what is the difference b/w non-coperation and disobedience movement

when the people boycotted all the british things i.e cloth....etc and boycotted all the laws...all the people,traders,merchants .take role in boycotting the british laws but in non voilence path this was non co operation movement .but after happening chara chauri inccident people became voilated and attacked the police chaukis .then ghandi thought that it had became voilated he back off the non co operation movement .and it was called cival diobeidance movement
