What is the Difference b/w PERSONIFICATION and METAPHOR ?

Personification is a figure of speech in which non- livings or non- human things are showed to act or do the actions of human beings.

Metaphor is a figure of speech in which there is an indirect comparison between two or more things.

In personification, The things which are not human are compared to or are given characteristics of human beings while in metaphor, there is no requirement that the image that is used should be treated or described as a person. A thing can be used as a metaphor for a person; a person can be used as a metaphor for a thing.
